Senior Market Research Consultant

An opportunity to join our Shanghai based consultancy firm, specializing in assisting foreign clients with China strategic market entry, market research, establishment, mergers & acquisitions across a wide range of businesses and industries. This would be a position starting immediately and require a great attitude and broad skill set.

The Senior Market Research Consultant is responsible for overseeing the appropriate research methodology and supporting the department's research techniques to meet defined business objectives for clients. He/she reviews the collected data, author's reports and makes business-oriented recommendations to clients. He/She is ultimately responsible for planning, co-coordinating and budgeting market research projects for clients.


  • Communicating with clients to understand and document their business objectives
  • Selecting the most appropriate research methodology and techniques for the client's project
  • In collaboration with key clients, developing and executing an action plan that delivers on research-related business goals
  • Designing qualitative and quantitative research plans for products in all stages of the project or product cycle
  • Managing and prioritizing the day-to-day workload with our research delivery team, including designing scopes, taking briefs and managing client expectations
  • Designing research questionaires, interpreting date, writing reports, and making actionable recommendations
  • Monitoring company, industry & general information sources (including websites) to keep up to date with the latest developments in the appropriate client industry and its related value chain
  • Advising as well as formulating market strategies in order to help launch clients products and services effectively, while also collaborating with clients' departments so as to create successful and unified plans
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with contacts and carry out regular in-depth face to face & telephone interviews to obtain company data and market insights
  • Prepare and make presentations and attend meetings with clients
  • Respond for queries or enquiries from clients as promptly and thoroughly as possible
  • Maintain and protect at all times the confidentiality of clients data and reports
  • Thorough research and networking, stay aware of business and commercial trends in the clients industry so as to advise and guide clients to make informed decisions related to clients industry
  • Works and acts resourcefully with 'can-do' results orientated attitude to challenges and problem solving
  • Professionally interacts with customers, senior-level executives, and all other levels of employees
  • Be willing to travel accross China for projects if needed
  • Be committed to teamwork, achieving results and displaying integrity
  • Being a professional consultant capable of independently and professionally working on projects and client needs as part of a team and individually as required
  • Commercial astuteness, self-motivation, maturity, able to work proactively, solve problems
  • Demonstrate leadership and make decisions unsupervised if required
  • Very flexible to a broad range of company work assignments and needs
  • To accurately understand the briefings of management and clients in a professional manner
  • Act at all times in a manner to grow and enhance the professional repuation of the company
